National Pensions Board

The National Pensions Board is established under Sectio​n 31 of the National Pensions Act, 1976 and the function of the Board is as follows:

  1. The Board may of its own accord advise the Minister on of any matter relating to the Act.
  2. The Board shall advise the Ministry on any matter referred to it by the Minister.

 

The Board is composed of the following: 

  1. a Chairman;
  2. a representative of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development ;
  3. a representative of the Ministry of Health and Wellness;
  4. a representative of the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training;
  5. a representative of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity;
  6. two representative of employers in the Sugar industry;
  7. two representatives of employers from among employers outside the sugar industry;
  8. two representatives of employees in the sugar industry; and
  9. two representatives of employees outside the sugar industry.
