National Council for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (NCRD)

The NCRD is a corporate body which was set up under the National Council for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Act 1986 as the National Coordination Committee on disability issues. Its main objectives are to:-

(i)    Promote the welfare of persons with disabilities;

(ii)   co-ordinate the activities of voluntary organisations catering for disabled persons;

(iii)  promote the development and expansion of rehabilitation services;

(iv)  advise on aspects of disabled persons; and

(v)  co-ordinate with private national and international agencies engaged in the rehabilitation of disabled persons and  to disseminate technical information received from these sources.
