Disability Allowance - (SDA) Payable under the Social Contribution and Social Benefits Act 2021

Amount payable as from July 2024 – Rs 2500

Beneficiaries aged below 18 are eligible to an additional monthly allowance of Rs 3000 (effective as from July 2024)

SDA is payable to a person residing in Mauritius provided that he

  1. is under the age of 60;
  2. suffers from a disability of not less than 40 percent and not exceeding 59 percent due to an injury or medical condition as specified in the sixth schedule of the SCSB Act 2021; and is not in receipt of a basic pension under the National Pensions Act.

 

Note: Beneficiaries aged below 18 are eligible to an additional monthly allowance of Rs 3000 (effective as from July 2024).

  1. Birth Certificate
  2. Marriage Certificate
  3. National Identity Cards:
    • Applicant
    • Proxy(where applicable)
  4. Medical Certificate specifying the disability
  5. Bank Name and Bank Account Number
    In the case of joint account, the National Identity Card(s) of Joint account holder(s) should be produced
  6. Proof of address (any utility bill)

Application may be registered at the Social Security Office nearest to the applicant’s locality.
