National Pensions Board
The National Pensions Board is established under Section 31 of the National Pensions Act, 1976 and the functions of the Board are as follows:
(i) The Board may of its own accord advise the Minister on of any matter relating to the Act; and
(ii) The Board shall advise the Minister on any matter referred to it by the Minister.
The Board shall consist of:
(a) a Chairperson;
(b) a representative of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development ;
(c) a representative of the Ministry of Health and Wellness;
(d) a representative of the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training;
(e) a representative of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity;
(f) two representatives of employers in the Sugar industry;
(g) two representatives of employers outside the sugar industry;
(h) two representatives of employees in the sugar industry; and
(i) two representatives of employees outside the sugar industry.
