National Pensions Board
The National Pensions Board is established under Section 31 of the National Pensions Act, 1976 and the function of the Board is as follows:
- The Board may of its own accord advise the Minister on of any matter relating to the Act.
- The Board shall advise the Ministry on any matter referred to it by the Minister.
The Board is composed of the following:
- a Chairman;
- a representative of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development ;
- a representative of the Ministry of Health and Wellness;
- a representative of the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training;
- a representative of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity;
- two representative of employers in the Sugar industry;
- two representatives of employers from among employers outside the sugar industry;
- two representatives of employees in the sugar industry; and
- two representatives of employees outside the sugar industry.
