Applicant should be a beneficiary of a Basic Pension (Basic Retirement Pension, Widow’s Basic Pension, Invalid’s Basic Pension or Basic Orphans Pension)

1. An Application Form to be submitted, prior to the departure of the applicant; or not later than 3 months after the date the beneficiary returns to Mauritius.

2. A medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner certifying the nature of illness of the beneficiary, the medical treatment to be undergone by the beneficiary and the approximate duration of the treatment; or 

           A medical certificate from the health institution abroad that the beneficiary will undergo, or has undergone, medical treatment and the duration of the treatment.

3. A copy of National Identity Card (NIC)

4. A copy of Passport details (both local and foreign)

Application may be registered at the Social Security Office nearest to the applicant’s locality.

For beneficiaries who are abroad, application may be submitted to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
