Francois Sockalingum Award 2015

The Ministry  of Social Security and National solidarity in collaboration with the National Council for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Board (NCRD organized the  23rd edition of the Francois Sockalingum Award on Wednesday 5 August at the Social Security House Rose Hill. Hon (Mrs) Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, Minister of Social Security, National Solidarity and Reform Institurions graced the function by her presence.

 

The FSA Award is a scholarship scheme for students with disabilities who have passed their CPE and are pursuing their secondary studies. They receive a monthly stipend of Rs 750 .This year, 11 new beneficiaries were selected   & received a cheque of Rs 6,000 from the Hon Minister.  7 students with disabilities who have successfully passed their SC and HSC exams respectively received a gift so as to encourage them to pursue their studies.​
