The TEDP Act 1996 (amended in 2012) provides that employers having a workforce of 35 or more workers, should employ 3% persons with disabilities accordingly. The TEDPB acts as a facilitator in finding employment or training for persons with disabilities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">Its main objectives are to:-<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-0\">(i)\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0prevent discrimination against persons with disabilities;<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-0\">(ii)\u00a0 \u00a0liaise with appropriate vocational training organisations and other training institutions for the training of persons with disabilities;<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-0\">(iii)\u00a0educate and sensitise employers on the importance of employing persons with disabilities and contribute to remove barriers or prejudices with regard to the employment of such persons;<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-0\">(iv)\u00a0\u00a0operate and encourage schemes and projects for the training and employment of persons with disabilities; and<\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-0\">(v)\u00a0 improve generally the social and economic status and condition of persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/p><p><strong class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\">Contact details<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"ms-rteFontFace-5 ms-rteFontSize-3\"><strong>Address:<\/strong> c\/o Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and\u00a0National Solidarity (Social Security and National Solidarity Division), R.
