The National Pensions Board is established under Sectio\u200bn 31 of the National Pensions Act, 1976 and the function of the Board is as follows:<\/span><\/p>

  1. The Board may of its own accord advise the Minister on of any matter relating to the Act.<\/span><\/li>
  2. The Board shall advise the Ministry on any matter referred to it by the Minister.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    \u00a0<\/p>

    The Board is composed of the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    1. a Chairman;<\/li>
    2. a representative of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development ;<\/li>
    3. a representative of the Ministry of Health and Wellness;<\/li>
    4. a representative of the Ministry of Labour, Human Resource Development and Training;<\/li>
    5. a representative of the Ministry of Social Integration, Social Security and National Solidarity;<\/li>
    6. two representative of employers in the Sugar industry;<\/li>
    7. two representatives of employers from among employers outside the sugar industry;<\/li>
    8. two representatives of employees in the sugar industry; and<\/li>
    9. two representatives of employees outside the sugar industry.<\/li><\/ol>
