The Residential Care Homes Board has been set up under section 4 of the Residential Care Homes Act 2003 to regulate the operations of Charitable Institutions and Private Residential Care Homes. It is a mandatory requirement for the aforesaid Institutions to ensure compliance with the Residential Care Homes Act 2003 and the Residential Care Homes Regulations 2005..<\/p>

Objectives of the Board<\/strong><\/p><\/div>

(i)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Exercises general supervision and control over residential care homes<\/div>
(ii)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Monitors compliance by licensees with the conditions of their licences<\/div>
(iii)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Exercises control over inspectors in the discharge of their functions under the Act<\/div>
(iv)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Establishes codes of practice for residential care homes and monitors compliance with the codes<\/div><\/div>

Responsibilities<\/strong><\/div>
(i)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Processes applications for residential care home licences;<\/div>
(ii)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Effects inspection at residential care homes;<\/div>
(iii)\u00a0 \u00a0 Provides information to prospective applicants as well as Officers in charge of residential care homes; and<\/div>
(iv)\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Attends to complaints regarding residential care homes<\/span><\/div>
